To gnucleus authors/helpers

you know the story today, that scumware thing.

IMHO, you should protest this action openly. This is the worst sad thing I have ever seen in my net life.

Greetings and thanks for making this excellent code free, open.

Slashdot Article About newest Morpheus "feature"

I see no way that swabby can do something against this!

Gnucleus is under GPL, so everybody can use the code and add these tools!

an open letter, nothing more. I know GPL real good... yeap, nothing can be done...

well you could write a copy of Morpheus that doesn't include the spyware... in fact it might be arguable that the spyware code itself has to be open-sourced because it is distributed with a GPL application...

And then there's the third option, packet-sniffing to figure out what server the spyware app uses and flooding it until they beg for mercy.

From what I know of the GPL, Morpheus is still in full compliance because the GPL only covers components of a program that are statically linked. The spyware is dynamically linked to a seperate DLL and isn't physically part of Morpheus so it might not fall under the same license because the spyware itself is not a derivative work of any other GPL'ed software.

However, I will admit that my interpretation of the GPL may be incorrect.
