A stop button for searches.

Please, I'm begging you.

No Doubt!! How about a way to SET the refresh rate on the transfer screens... or force it to stop refreshing once an item is highlighted.

And how about allowing you to sort the transfer screen by the colomn headings (File Name, Size, Transfer Rate, etc)

And whats the deal with my PC freezing for 5-10 seconds every time a transfer completes?

... And what's up with all this CRASHING?!?!

BTW.. I really do like the program :)

The stop button has been implemented in the search window and will be present in the next version.

Go to control panel, display, settings, advanced and turn the performance way down to see if your video card may have something to do with this.
I found it caused freeze ups on my system.
I got a new invidia? card and it installed some new DLL's in windows/system to make things more stable and since then I have had no problems! I don't know what it installed but I have never had things this good, ever! It was $25 and well worth it!
Just a suggestion.

heh when i first tried gnucleus awhile back, i thought i just couldn't find the stop button or media type search. when all others have it, you expect it to be a common cross feature.

i also hope the connection process will be improved, it takes so much longer to conect to stable nodes compared to bearshare, limewire, swapper and others. i don't use any fake software firewalls or crap :)

High colour buttons

I know this is nit-picking, but I think it would be really.. spiffy if someone could design some high-colour buttons for Gnucleus. Specifically, the buttons for Connect, Chat, Transfers, etc. Also the system tray icon could do with a makeover!
The new XP program icon is sweet, btw! :)

How about a few features from Gnotella may it RIP :((
1. changing the color of files in the results window that you
are already downloading. so your not trying to download
the same file twice.

2. allow right clicking on the results menu to adjust what info
is displayed. exp. host;IP;version; file size an type etc...

3. buttons to prefilter by file type sound, video, image etc.
before the search begins and that are only valid for that
particular serch.

Please excuse me if the features are there and I've overlooked them. I am still learning this client

Or maybe...

... How about actually downloading those identical files from multiple sources like the old Morpheus client.

Gnucleus has the potential to be a great client but still not quite as good as gnotella.

Definately need bitrate shown in searches, some of us dont want 128 bit files.

Add More Gnotella options...

Add things such as whether the hosts are behind firewalls, allow users to browse the files the host has.. (web browser option like bearshare and gnotella) The Gnutella spy feature was pretty cool on Gnotella,( being able to see what others are requesting.
The ability change the number of hosts (and how many files as well as how large their shared storage was, and how many you can connect to is definately a nice feature.

I would love to see a 3rd generation Gnotella client!

Unable to connect

First of all thanks to the developpers, Gnucleus is becoming my prefered gnutella client.
There's a couple of things that I still find annoying. I notice that Gnucleus has some kind of auto-research because it's always finding new sources. This is neat. But i think that it should also research files that does not connect right anyway and stop giving that annoying "Unable to connect" message. I'm tired of right-clicking "Re-search" on all those files.

Also, i would like that when i close gnucleus, it keep all the files in the download windows instead of moving only the partial downloads to "partial" tabs. I don't like having to search again those rare files i often look for or re-start every downloads.

Those two changes would make gnucleus closer to xolox "start and forget" utilisation.

Finally, a better way to restric bandwith, cause being on a shared connection, my roomate often have a hard time browsing the web when my gnucleus is open.

I hope i'm am clear enough ! Feel free to ask for clarifications. Thanks again !

You can do that on Gnucleus too. Go to statistics (tools menu) and click the log tab. Select checkboxes "queries" and "good packets" and choose whatever nodes you want to monitor.

Don't know if it's new but my version of gnucleus (1.7.3.0) has a stop button at the bottom right of the search window.

Unregistered April 21st, 2002 07:26 PM

how about filtering what types of files to download e.g. music, video, etc. as in Gnutella?

I think you mean GnOtella and not GnUtella! Gnutella is the protocol which Gnucleus and other clients use!
