SHA1 auto-updates annoying I like to share many G of files, and when gnutella updates the files SHA1 it is really annoying. I worry that the noise will wake my housemates. Could we please have this optional, optionally set to happen at startup only, and preferably optimised so that it checks against a list of last-modified time for each file to decide first whether to SHA1 that file again? I am assuming this is not happening now, because of the chainsaw-like noise coming from my hard disk every 1/2 hour or so. Nos |
No, it is happening exactly as you want it to behave. I don't know what causes the hard disk noise. Modern versions have a small indicator showing background SHA1 hashing activities. Which version are you using? |
