Unable to connect to HTTP proxy

I can search for files and get a reasonable set of results, but 99.9% of the time when I try to download files I just get "Unable to connect to HTTP proxy".

Is that usual? What might be causing this?

I think Proxy support is currently broken, mainly because the authors don't use proxies, and noone with a proxy has contributed a fix yet.
