Newbie: internet connection required?

I am a newbie in using gtk_gnutella.

I would like to ask, must I get connected to the internet before gtk_gnutella to work?

Can I just run it over a LAN? How?
( the situation is to setup a gnutella network over a LAN, which is not connected to the internet.)

I suggest you have a look at the Config->Network settings in GTK-Gnutella, this *should* enlighten you
