Help for installing Gtk-gnutella in Gnome

Right - ill start by saying... "i completely dont know what im doing".

I am running on Linux with Gnome.
I downloaded "gtk-gnutella-0.93.3.tar.bz2"
I then extracted the files and put them in my home directory.

Could any one please tell me how to install it in simple english:D

Normally my brother would do all this for me - but he says this program is a waste of time - even thought ive seen him use it. So i threaten him by saying ill install windows and then Kazza - but people have said that its (Kazza's) a waste of time.

So here i am trying to use GTK with not much experiance.

Could someone please tell me how i should install Gtk - im pretty sure i need to use terminal, and if so could someone do a step by step directions?

Ive read all the install stuff in the readme file but it doesnt seem to help.

If you do i will be internally grateful.:)

Which distro are you using?

Normal installation instruction are in the INSTALL file.
However, when you extracted the .tar.bz2 file you normally enter that directory, and then you enter in the command line:
./Configure
(yes with capital C)
then if you answered all the questions and there were no errors. You enter:
make
if that also went fine and no errors showed up you do:
su -c 'make install'
And you should be set.
