Deleted Music

I deleted all of my songs from my Library in an attempt to clean up my computer, because I thought that iTunes would have them saved. But I found out that iTunes was relying on LimeWire for the music. Is there any way that I can restore the songs? If not, my iPod will be cleared the next time I plug it into my computer. Or is there a way of transferring songs saved on my iPod onto my computer?
