Banning large blocks of IPs

Is there a limit on the size of an IP range that can be banned??

Just for example, if I try to ban 24.0.0.0 to 34.255.255.255 will this work?

I have tried banning large blocks of IPs at times and they dont seem to take for some reason.

Wondering if there is some built in safeguard against this and if it can be overcome.

Thanks
Dave

It could be that you run into a shortcoming/performance trade off we had to made.. Can you try to ban
24.0.0.0/255.0.0.0
25.0.0.0/255.0.0.0
26.0.0.0/255.0.0.0
.
.
and so on...

I recommend you to use the network mask notation. Phex can perform checks much faster with it.

24.0.0.0/248.0.0.0
32.0.0.0/254.0.0.0
34.0.0.0/255.0.0.0

Might as well optimize it right from the start. ;]

Yes this should work in generally, but the way user filter are currently implemented you need to specify a rule for each number in the first section.
So to make this work correctly use my recommendation ;)

For the system filters it is a different case...
