Won't connect to any hosts? My online service is Compuserve and I downloaded the BearShare program. It started up fine, but it cannot connect to any hosts. It tries for a period of time and then it says "timeout". Please help.... Do I have to have Internet Explorer as my browser to use this program? |
You should be able to run JUST the client, you don't need the web browser running. The clients have mini browsers! Sorry I don't run Bearshare. maybe try another client! Allthough I don't see why that would help. |
Dude,LOSE COMPUSLAVE!!!!!!!!! I was on them 1 1/2 years and I got NOTHING off gnutella but text files and a couple of PDFs.Now I can get any size file in a reasonable amount of time with cable. CABLE IS GOD!Seriously if you are on dialup(with compuslave I am positive you are)You will never get any decent transfers. The nice thing about cable is that it's not OS dependent.I run Windoze and Linux on the same connection. If you can afford $40 a month then get cable. You will not regret it! |
Hosts What is your max host set at in the bottom of the host tab? If you are using a modem it should be set to around 2-3 hosts max. Louis |
