2 machines on network, BS only connects on one?

Hi,
I have ben doing a lot of reading up re connection problems, but haven't been able to find a solution to the problem I'm having.
I can't connect to any host using Bearshare. I've tried a series of tests as detailed below and have yet to find the cause. Suggestions?
I have 2 laptops. 1 running WinXP (works fine) and one running WinXP Media Center (not working).
Bearshare used to work fine around 3 months ago (haven't tried it in between then an now - so not sure when it stopped working)
I tried installing Limewire and this works fine, also ran the limewire:6346 test and it succeeds.
I have WinXP SP2. Bearshare doesn't work even with the firewall off.
So for the facts:
Bearshare cannot connect to any hosts
Internet connection is active
Limewire works fine
This used to work fine about 3 months ago.
No ports are blocked by ISP
My only thoughts are that it could be a WinXP patch? (checked the installed programs and there is nothing recent that has been downloaded.)
As you can see i'm at a bit of a loss. Any thoughts or ideas?
Thanks

Set the second one to use port 6348 and make sure the router forwards incoming TCP and UDP on 6348 to that laptop.

Thanks for the reply.
I don't have both of the machines on the network at the same time. I connect one (WinXP) and it works. Disconnect that machine and then connect the second (WinXP MCE) and it doesn't work.

I tried the port forwarding on the router for all ports in the range 6000 - 7000 and it still works the same way.

If it works on one machine and not the other, is it safe to rule out any network connectivity issues?

Thanks in advance!

Grab BearDiag and post diagnostics for both machines at Technutopia.
We'll probably spot some differences between the two.
