well...

there is something I've noticed lately, but honestly haven't taken the time to completely verify it...

and that is this:

BS is apparently being singled out for DDOS attacks by the paid henchmen of the RIAA/MPAA...some pretty severe attacks to the order of 100+ hits per second from a single group, and I've noticed 3 groups that are really hammering away...

I don't use LW anymore, but I tried out Phex a week ago and noticed while I was getting some attacks, they were much lighter...more to the order of a total of 20 hits a second maximum from all attacking parties..\

I detect these attacks just by simply watching PeerGuardian2...(I hope you're using that nice little piece of software...and a firewall...while it might be forgivable to not be aware of PG2, not using a firewall (and I'm not referring to the Windoze firewall as that is worthless) is...well....MORONIC)...

these attacks are completely unwarranted and illegal as simply doing a search for the word vacation results in an assault that is unbelievably intense...I could see if they were actually filtering searches and looking for those that obviously dealt with copywrited materials, but vacation??????..the fact that p2p software is still legal obviously means that somebody with some small amount of intelligence has realized there are legal uses for p2p technology, and sharing/downloading vacation images is certainly legal...

See I figured something was up.
Well I can still connect and it still does what its supposed to even if it takes a little longer oh well for now i guess.
Bearshare imo is the best ever for filesharing so i wont be switching any time soon, been with this for sooo long.
Deffinetly dont use windows Firewall either lol agreed
But like you said its pretty cheapy whats going on if thats really the case.

Have you considered using the BS 5.1 beta ? I am well aware that BS 5.2.5 users are very dedicated to their versions. 'If' you have a back-up of the 5.2.5 installer, you could always try the beta; http://www.gnutellaforums.com/host-c...bearshare.html :)

hey maybe its the way my firewall is set up or maybe a security setting on my pc?
ne suggestions?

i have avg anti virus,
theres a setting on it that controls how all your programs are opened and whenever you open a program you have to approve it first.
well thats all good but sometimes ill get a message saying its blocked me from the host i was connected to, ''blocked connections'' with....123.123.434.etc etc.

I have a solution for you, change your AVG antivirus software...Because AVG black list all p2p apps by default...Im sure thats why you have your problems with your apps! I have used AVG and it's no good for p2p use in general...Google for Avast antivirus, it's also free for home users...And also have a build in p2p shield which works gerat with p2p apps... Cheers, and have nice day ;-))

But im sure im connected the whole time through.
