Skins: Need File Changing Help

Skins: Changing .zip to .lwtp
Hello,

I cant seem to get the .zip back to .lwtp file.

Ive tried re-naming it my_theme.lwtp but it just goes to,

my_theme.lwtp.zip

Any Help ??

Locate the file using windows explorer. Highlight the file then single right click.

This will open a window --- got to properties and left click

This will open another window --- where it says -- attributes: Read Only --- make sure this box is unchecked. If it is checked, uncheck it and click apply.

Then try and rename it.

i did all that .

but then the file is just my_theme.lwtp.zip

I made sure is wasn't read only.

Im not sure whats wrong

Any other Suggestions?

You do have admin. privileges don't you?

That is the only thing that comes to mind why you can't rename it, because if you don't it may not allow you to do it, especially if your doing it from a limited/restricted user account.

Hi, the simple answer is you havent allowed windows the abbility to change file types in explorer. bellow is a step by stem animation but i will put in text as well for you (kind me). :D
PS: LimeWire when i made my skin i all ready knew you had to do this but some butting designers may not. please note that for your making skins section :D

Step 1: Open My Computer
Step 2: Goto Menu, Tools
Step 3: Goto the Folder Options
Step 4: Then Click "View" tab
Step 5: Untick "Hide extensions for known file types"
Step 6: Apply :D
YOUR SET

Nope unchecking read only does not work. I've unzipped the files to create the new theme in the theme folder. It does not show up so to apply the new skin. Anybody know what there talking about?

Summary

I realise all this has been posted in this thread and also across the forums but this is just a summary post for all those lazy people or those not so smart people like myself who cant read lol

1. Download the .zip file
2. Click tools and go to folder options
3. Make sure its not hiding known file types
4. right click and rename the .zip file
5. take the .zip away in the file name and replace it with .lwtp
6. you now have you theme file
7. refresh the list in limewire then apply your skin
8. your done
