Limewire and network

I'm trying to make Limewire 2.5.5 work on a PC runing Win XP and thru a server running W2K Advanced Server.
It will not connect directly nor thru SOCKS.......
I have a proxy server running and the port is open and ticked Internet Sharing on my ISP-conn.

Thanks in advance for some help
