does it feel like it's the network and not the user from whom you are downloading? |
ALL - you may try allocating more memory to the app if you can. I have 60MB allocated and it runs very smooth. That is probably overkill, but I have plenty. MUHAHAHAHA j/k |

It's pretty consistent in the way it drops the connection and other versions don't seem to display the same behaviour. I'm just going to re-install a few older versions and see what happens. Cheers Vaz |
Vasquez, some of those old versions of LimeWire are dangerous. Use 2.7.13 if you go backwards. Thanks. Read Greg's post if you have a question about it. |
Thanks LimeDude, had already seen that. I wouldn't roll back any earlier than 2.7.13 as it (hopefully) makes sense that it was the last most stable version. Cheers Vaz |
Vasquez, LimeWire version 2.8.5 works fine for me on my Mac iBook. When I tried to update to version 2.8.6 it gives me an error. So I went back to version 2.8.5. Any explanation from the LimeWire Team on this new version? Thanks. |
How about your platform? LimeDude et al seem to be using Classic OS on Macs that will run X, which is available over Gnutella (or was yesterday) - have you considered upgrading to a modern OS, guys, instead of dolloping out gobs of dedicated RAM and crossing your fingers? That said, LimeWire 2.8.5 crashes and quits worse than 2.7.x in Jaguar as well - hope 3.0 is avail soon... |
