That error bitmap doesn't make any sense unless the user is using an aol browser to download the installer.

Thanks

I thought Acq worked out how to use 1.4.1 and Dave released some code the opensoucers would integrate. I'm not surprised its far less simple than that: Darn!
All I do is use the path to the 1.4.1 java vm and run it. Trivially easy. And probably not even necessary.

One of those. Pick!

The LimeWire core, which Acquisition embeds, doesn't contain anything that would really prevent it from running under 1.4.1 on Mac OS X. The OS-integration stuff is what currently depends on the JVM-on-Carbon implementation not available after 1.3.1, and that stuff is in the gui.

Default LimeWire Alpha Version 2.9.4

We rolled out another alpha version on Friday (need to upload the PRO beta on Monday - accidentially uploaded the free version twice).

This version fixed one massive bug in our search results. We have been misparsing BearShare (and some Morpheus) results in such a way that they show up as one star results. This has been true since June 2002. Results seem to be a little better overall.

A few other exceptions were fixed as well so we are getting a little closer to stability.

Thanks
-greg

Greg, I would like to know if a classic version of LimeWire 2.9.x will be released sometime soon.

I'm not sure if it's the right version but trusting that LimeWire's build process is driven by scripts (and they did not bother NOT to create the Mac installers), - you might try these:

http://www9.limewire.com/beta/LimeWireMac.bin
http://www9.limewire.com/beta/LimeWireMacNoVM.bin

Those installers have not been tested yet and I don't know for sure which version it is (I assume it's 2.9.4 however).

Trap_jaw, I don't understand what you meant by this: "and they did not bother NOT to create the Mac installers." Could you explain this please?

Greg, I noticed no big change in the classic version of 2.9.4. It looks very similar to LimeWire 2.8.6. Adam said that a lot has been changed like a new look for LmeWire 2.9x. It still has the same look as 2.8.6.
