Looks like they are automatically generated whenever I type a request. Where are they from and could we enforce whoever creates them if it is for spam?

block the host that sends them. Search for "awesome" in these forums for many more details. BTW--I haven't seen one of these since running the new 2.9* versions, but I haven't heard that LW is actively blocking them.
