How does it work?

One client creates a TCP connection to another client and the text is sent over that TCP connection as plain UTF-8.

The chat feature is currently a little outdated, - I will try to make some improvements to it soon.

I have finally gotten a chat dialouge window to appear, but i have not had one , and i mean NOT ONE person answer. i am convinced this feature does not EVER work. thanks girard

I haven't initiated any chats, but I get quite a few, people just taking a moment to say hi, or thanks, or something. I rather like the LimeWire Chat, and wish more people had it enabled.
