Help Out the New Guy PLEASE

I just downloaded the newest version of Limewire today however it will not connect. I have a modem connection and am using windows xp. I shut off my firewall and tried to re-connect but still had no luck. I've noticed many people have had connecting problems so perhaps someone will know what my problem is. Thanks!

I had the same problem with my friend's Mac-that's a problem within itself-and after fiddling around with the connection prefs we got connected eventually. I guess the long way to get it to work is to change all your preferences around over and over, but that took us all night.

How do you have it all set up?
