Down Loading Movies

Well guys,

I try to put the title of a movie or the name of the star in the search and I keep getting everything but who or what I put in there.

Any ideas as to what I should do?

add the keywords "avi" or "dvdrip" to your query. - Remember only to download movies that you already bought! Everything else would not be legal...

You won't get that from Gnutella. Try edonkey2000 or Bittorrent.

Looking at the code I see that the file size is transferred using 4 bytes. This can theoretically be interpreted as up to 4GB unsigned. LimeWire currently checks that this value is not more than 2GB in an assumption that the value is signed. Wouldn't it be more appropriate to let the value be up to 4GB?

Do you mean Limewire can't share files greater than 2GB?

If yes, this is something which definitely needs to be changed.

Yes, you cannot share files larger than 2GB. I tested it with a high quality Woodstock DVD rip I did which is larger than 2GB. This file is consistently ignored by LimeWire, other files in the same folder share fine.

I realise this is an old thread & I don't know what it has to do with LimeWire Beta Program. Are you sure it's LW's restrictions or your particular OS. Some OS's have some restrictions upon size of files that can be saved via apps. Also, why don't you shop around & look for discounts. Or borrow what you're looking for & do a temporary backup until you can watch it. Take a look at these re: resolution of various formats:

Neither XP nor OS X nor Linux have that limit. In this particular case it is a Gnutella Limit with an extra twist that LimeWire restricts it even more.

Sure, the newer OS's are no longer so limited, but if I recall OS 9 & earlier, & the earlier Windows OS's had restrictions (more the earlier they were unless I'm mistaken.) But I don't know about the point you made. Very interesting. You speak from experience. I've never tried it. I agree it should be changed!
