4.8

FYI -- There's now LimeWire 4.8. We'll report the details of the change shortly, but in the meantime, you should upgrade.

???
One major upgrade per month? Major security update? At the rythm open source contributers send patches, you'll need someone specialize at merging them like Linus Torvalds ;)

Will we see 6.0 this year? :p

The tip-off that a new version is running seems to be in the bug reports.

Sure enough, it was on the pro beta page again :)

(but no matter how I try to force refresh the regular Pro page, it's still at 4.6.0 with no beta link  )

uploads (especially swarmed) are still a problem: I think it's time to check with the ISP again. grrrr

every d/l sote seems to dleiver 4.8 instead of 4.6 as advertised. ordinarily good, except that 4.8 crashes for me (WInXP). Where can I get an older (stabler?) verison?

OK. aftre getting an exception error repeatedly with both basic and pro 4.8 (and doing all the right things, new JRE, reboot, etc.) I was still geting exception error. then I read abunch o' forums, did nothing and now, voila, it works. 10 time is a charm.

Greetings all you big beautiful LimeWire users.

Well I've been running LW Pro 4.8.0 for appx. 3.5 hours now.

With the exception of the 1st 2 starts it has been behaving.

Both the 1st and 2nd time I started it appeared to start okay, but when I did a search. I immediately got an exception error.

You have the bug reports.

I closed LImeWire, and checked to make sure it wasn't running in the background. I have a Radeon 300 video card, which has VGA, DVI, and TV outputs. I normally have VGA and TV out enabled at all times. I disabled TV out. Restarted LimeWire did a search, voila no more exception error. Re-enabled TV out while LimeWire was running, still no problems searching. Shut down LW 5 times and restarted still no exception errors, when doing searches.

All other areas of operations seem normal. d/l, u/l, connection status.

version on site

although the website still indicates it is version 4.6.0, in fact you'll download version 4.8.0 of LimeWire Basic from
CNET.

The "http://www.limewire.org/scripts/scripts.js" script on the limewire website should be updated to reflect the change...

(Also, may be, the description on CNET Download.com, may be this may take longer time to be online)
