What happens if you click on Find More sources or manually start a query for the file in the magnet?

(check your PMs pls)

THis is the error message i get when trying a link from the following site: http://www.magnetmix.com/video.shtml

There were some problems with the magnets hosted on magnetmix, we'll address those shortly.

Is the above error message from Safari or Firefox?

Lord of the Rings July 15th, 2005 10:48 AM

Yep all works well in Safari. It was Netscape that was the problem (I killed history & cache but no diff.) Magnet links wouldn't work in it at all. But the links from both Fabion & the above site work with Safari. It also works with Internet Explorer. Any chance of making it compatible with netscape again. lol It's just my prefered browser.

We'll give it a try. Its Netscape proper, not Mozilla or Firefox? Also, please let us know which version of Netscape it is, and which is the last LimeWire version that it worked with.

The links definitely worked fine in 4.8.1 but I don't think I attempted to use them with the earlier betas (can't remember.) My version of Netscape is Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.7.2) Gecko/20040804 Netscape/7.2

I use links with http://www.peerweb.org/

"magnet" not being a registered protocol is purely a problem with the browser. Did you try using magnet links on the same version of Netscape with earlier versions? If Netscape can't recognize that magnet is a valid protocol, and that LimeWire has told OSX it's a handler for them, there's really not much we can do about it.

From memory i was able to use it with other versions except for the betas. Unless I'm mistaken. I've only been using magnets for about 3-4 mths.

1. I have noticed that if the file completes 100% before a user has a chance to click NO on the corruption dialog, the file is already saved into saving directory and the NO is ignored by limewire. This poses a problem if the download directory is being shared. Then other users will download this corrupt file.
2. LimeWire icons in search results are still not changing to the correct icons.
3. The License warning dialog will re-display itself if i go into the options searching > basic, and then just click OK without ticking the box. Now download something, you will see the license box reappear.
4. Downloading multiple files (around 8 files, and 3-4MB in size each) still rasies the cpu usage signifigantly and disk access is heavy.
5. And tons of bugs that i posted in other threads are still lingering around.
