connecting

FOr the past week when I try to connect It takes approx. 10 minutes then gives me a fail to connect message. Can anyone tell me what to do to fix this I went to the FAQ but that wasnt any help at all! All it said in a nut shell was that you should wait and it will connect but I did and it didn't.
