Limewire Blurry Bug

Am i the only one having this problem? When i start limewire EVERYTHING is way too blurry to read properly, it's not good on anyones eyes to be sure, but when i hover my mouse over an icon in my quickstart list and the name of that icon appears, for some reason the blurryness of Limewire goes away until that text dissapears again....

is there a more permanant work around for this problem?

I'm using Limewire Pro 4.9.7 w/ latest java
my display is nVidia GeForce 6800 Ultra using the 77.76 drivers

Try setting your nvidia settings to default & see if it makes any difference. Just in case, see The way to fix the Blank screen on startup

Re: Limewire Blurry Bug

Overdose 23, I have a 19"LCD monitor and I use high resolution. I have the same visual problem with the blurry effect of the text. However, I have changed the skin (Red and Black) and it's better. The text is white on black and is much easier to read.

It is not possible to change the visuality of text using the desk top properties and appearnce etc. that won't work with Limewire.

Thanks for your reply IMP and Lord of the Rings.

As for changing my nVidia settings it does not do anything for the problem.

Although changing to the Black theme does give the illusion that it is easier to read, illusion only because after about 20 minutes my eyes feel very tired due to the still present blurryness...the white on black does help it become more legible though.

There must be a way to fix, either in a future Limewire version, or if a Limewire developer could say if it's nVidia's fault...

well i have a 17" LCD monitor, and it does sometimes get blurry, thats because of the smooth display it presents. if you have an LCD monitor, there should be an "Auto Adjust" button somewhere on it. press that and everything will be back to normal. also this just might help:

Excerpt from "Help and Support Center" with search term "Clear Type":
Quote:

To use ClearType for screen fonts
Open Display in Control Panel.
On the Appearance tab, click Effects.
In the Effects dialog box, select the Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts check box.
Click ClearType in the list.

Notes
To open Display, click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Display.
ClearType is ideal for portable computer and other flat screen monitors. ClearType may appear slightly blurry on desktop computer monitors.
Whether you select Standard or ClearType from the list, you must have a video card and monitor that support a color setting of at least 256 colors. Best results are achieved with High color (24-bit) or Highest color (32-bit) support. Click the Settings tab to set Color quality.

I had the same blurry problem. I have a GeForce 6600GT and I had forced antialiasing through the driver. As soon as I turned it off and restarted Limewire the problem went away.

Hope this helps.
