chat sessions

I have 3 computers and each one I have different versions of LimeWire (I'm tryin to teach myself to be a beta tester). Anyways, in each version when I start a chat session with someone downloading from me, I can send them a message, they send one back, then it says host no longer available. I close the chat session, reopen the chat session, and I can once again send them a message and they can send one back, then it says host not available, so start again, so on and so on. Is this a glitch with LimeWire or should I search for a glitch with my systems? Remember, each system has different versions of Lime Wire (with same results), but each system is on the same DSL service.

they closed the connection. in other words, they closed the chat box. IIRC, limewire 5.2 will have a much better chat implementation.

That is gret news.

We don't need a system where we can chat for hours on end .. there are other methods for that. Just to be able to send a message saying "Your file xxxx is incorrectly labelled" "or Have you got yyyyy?" and be able to rceive a reply maybe two hours later when the other host checks his computer. It must also have a means of alerting you when a message arrives otherwise the dialogue box will remain hidden, and most likely forgotten.

I like to try to send a virus alert to the ones with the 851.7 zip files. It's really hard to do when you have multiples hosting the file. I can only effectively communicate with those uploading from me and then only if they have chat enabled. I see a lot of folks don't. On the upside this version 4.9.27 seems fairly stable.
