Latest Beta release

OK, 4.9.37 is the latest stable release, but what's the latest Beta? There isn't a beta chancelog so is imposible for me to know, since the "update to latest beta" LimeWire mechanism send me to the ...latest stable version.
Looking by # 4.9.7.1 seems the latest, but think is rather old so... what version I'm gonna test?

Your beta page will just take you to 4.9.37 today.

Most of the time with the 4.9 series, there hasn't been a lot time for us to beta test before the release came out.

Just keep watching for the beta button to pop up, because it has a really short life lately :D

Actually, I think the devs have found that more small releases is working, and that the improved code goes public much faster.

ok, im confused (not uncommon for me). i clicked on the updat to newer version link, and it wanted to load 4.9.37, but i'm running 4.9.7. Then i read sumthing about 4.9, but can't find it anywhere. Should i cut back on the black russians or drink a couple more?

Hell I would drink a couple more no reason to waste a good drunk. Then wake up in the morning take a couple of aspirins get rid of the headache and try again. :D :D

@ Twister & flrman

it should automatically update for you once you click the "update now" button. you can check which version you are using by going to your menu bar: Help > About LimeWire.

im a bit confused by what you mean

Alternatively you can go directly to the Beta page for any betas. It appears LW 4.9.39 is now released. http://www.limewire.com/english/content/beta.shtml

But please tell us if the update or beta link for LW doesn't work! ;)

It's always nice to see this page updated: http://www.limewire.com/english/cont..._history.shtml
I don't see any mention of the spam filter though. This page is sometimes too limited on details. Hey ... what about those of us who love details! lol :D

Then they can read CVS commits or source code ;)

Grandpa December 16th, 2005 05:08 PM

Thats why they call them betas so us that like details can try to find them, and see if we can break it. :D

stief December 16th, 2005 05:13 PM

the browse host results problem has been fixerd with 4.9.39 by bypassing the spam filter, but it looks like "What's New" results might be getting choked.

Can anyone else confirm?

Where do we find those?

Stief good to hear. I hope your findings are correct. :)
