Gnutella lovers/Bearshare users also note that Vinnie Falco's future versions of Bearshare may or may not contain 'enforced' parasite software on your PC'S ,but judging from his approval of Limewires underhand tactics(not being upfront with the end user about what is really installed on THEIR PC)then I

I was using gnut and other clients (I don't remember their names, - it was some dead projects for gtk but it was not gtk-gnutella) before I even noticed their was any such thing as Limewire or Bearshare. So there probably would be a gnutella without Bearshare or Limewire although I doubt the network would have grown that fast.

As for ads - people, probably using ICQ, GoZilla or surfing web sites with banners shouldn't even start to complain about ads bundled with LimeWire (at least the information gathered by spyware is not shared with governmental agencies, is it?).

Falco used to think that Gnutellas control was in his grasp,to me he is worse than the leeches of the RIAA,he is more dangerous than companies like the RIAA could ever be,at least the RIAA doesn't pretend to be your friend.
My advice?give Limewire the benefit of the doubt, they are used to being the darlings of Gnutella,if they are so confident of their product, let them sell their product in the real world without the added crap that goes with it,if they as a buisness decide that they can no longer try to sell to end users a buisness that is primarily used to download copyrighted material, then so be it.
As for Bearshare.....

Dude, you are ignoring reality. Limewire is used by only a few percentage of users, Bearshare has been used by a high amount of users in the past, but now isn't state of the art (corrupted resume, slow downloads). As a matter of fact a lot of developers argue and fight against each other (Bearshare and Limewire in the past, Falco against all), but do not further develop Gnutella... all this is slowing down and throwing back gnutella development for months!
I'm glad that a software like Xolox and Gnotella came up and showed what Gnutella could be and made an end of pro/contra MP3 metadata shown in Gnutella. The first thing Vinnie does was attacking any yelling to everyone that is not Bearshare, also the nobel closed grouped "the_GDF" did not see or learn a lesson from Xolox, Gnotella or Fastrack advantages. I appreciate Limewire's reseatch, but I have never seen the Limewire developer discussing with other interested users.

Gnutella is an open protocol, most gnutella developers are closed minded.

Hi Vinnie!

I am bearsharer, I can live with your add-ins because the installation is optional...

But in Limewire the spytools will be installed in both cases...
if I want so or not...

And that is a big difference for me!

Ad-aware discovers both add-ins (limewire and bearshare), but bearshare is after deinstalling the tools fully operational - Limewire not!

And I have to mention the cydoors! Vinnie you know what cydoors are?

So Vinnie don´t you think there is a difference?

And it is no good PR for no client to install cydoors...

And all developers should think about this...

Paying your bills is one side but truth the other!

Morgwen, you are/were(?) a moderator on the German Bearshare website, you also remember the time that Bearshares spyware

Hi twoface!

If you know me!

If you ever read my posts, I mean all and not only one...

I used ad-aware and supported the people deinstalling this garbage...

Yes I am a moderator but I have my own opinion...

I am not Kutulus or one of vinnis knights...

I hate all spyware...

I love bearshare.de and the people around...

and I love Gnutella!

The clients doesn´t interest me anymore because the developers are kidding us...

but I will support all people to deinstall this garbage...

and you think you know who I am?

Mr. unregistered
