downloads mysteriously quit

downloads mysteriously quit

I downloaded 2.1.1 and it works well except my downloads will drop to 0 kbs and won't resume. It doesn't say "could not download" or connecting, it stays on 0 for good. Other items will keep downloading so I haven't lost the connection.
Anyone have any ideas or explanations?
