limewire GUI freezes

limewire GUI freezes

hello everybody,
i am using limewire 2.3.1 with WinXP and it freezes as soons as the number of files i am sharing counts over 2000. and if i move another window over limewire all the items disappear. i guess it's because the adding of the mp3 files to the database takes all the CPU power so nothing is left for the rest of limewire.
I got a 800 Mhz Duron with 256 MB of RAM and all the mp3 files are on a samba server i am connect trough a 100 MBit network.
