Ip Addresses

Is there aby way to find files from a particular user using the address that is displayed when you use the "browse host" option? I finally found something that I was looking for, but I had to restart my pc.

EDIT: I apologize. I saw a similar thread...
EDIT:: Okay, now I have a new problem. In the direct connect tab, it says that I have a firewall. I have the AOL security center, and I'm not sure how to configure it. Does anyone here know?
EDIT::: I followed the firewall instruction for the Windows Firewall, but I think that I have a McCafee one, too. The link to instructions for McCafee doesn't work.
EDIT:::: In the process list, there are a lot of Aol and McCafee things running, but I don't know what they are.

Don't have 2 firewalls running. eg: disable XP firewall & instead, configure your McAfee firewall. Or vice-versa.

In order to direct connect, you do need to be properly configured without firewall problems.

Beware of the AOL pestpatrol. It doesn't like LW.

Well, AOL forced me to uninstall the version of McAfee that I PAYED for and replaced it with a free version that barely even works. I disabled the AOL firewall and re-enabled the Microsoft firewall. I also followed the instructions in something that you linked to. Is there any way to tell which firewalls are running?

EDIT: Could you look at a Hijack This log?
EDIT:: For some reason, the IP addresses for the two Gnutella services keep changing to my computer name. Is that what' causing the problem?

The wall is dead. I don't know how, but it is. Time fore some pop corn and pie.

EDIT: Well, the wall is dead, but it still says that I am behind a router/firewall. and it still fails to connet to people. Why is this happening?

Is AOL your only option? So what type of modem/router do you have? What brand & model?
How many softw firewalls are on your system ... running or not? :D

I am trying to lminimize my use of AOL. They killed my McAfee firewall! That was expensive... Anyways, I am running the Windows firewall, I disabled the AOL one, and I still have a few processes which suggest that McAfee is running in the background. The brick wall is gone again, by the way:)

That's good news! :)
