How do I increase Download Speeds?

I cant figure out how to get my Download speeds up! I Have DSL and my computer has a 2.8 GHz Processor and 536 Mb RAM which DEFINETLY doesnt make it slower. the download speeds never go above 15 KB/s overall, even if its just LimeWire on. WHAT DO I DO!!! (yes i do have my download speed set to unlimited)

What's your speed though?? Do a speed test & see
http://www.dslreports.com/speedtest?more=1

Download speed depends on your speed, your hosts' speed, how many hosts you're downloading from, how you have your LW set up etc etc;)
Have a look through this thread for good tips to optimise LW's performance

There is a chance that your ISP (Internet Service Provider) is throttling P2P Traffic

Who is your ISP ?

is bellsouth throttling p2p traffic

Use Google to search for BellSouth - traffic shaping or BellSouth p2p... see if you find any useful info.

If you have suspicions that they might be shaping... call their help desk & ask.
