Matching exact phrases.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I haven't found this anywhere.

How can I get search results that are limited to an exact phrase? For example, I know the song is called "Tell Me Why." If I do a search for that, I get everything with "tell", "me", and "why" in it. I tried putting my search string in quotes, but that didn't help either. To make matters worse, I searched for the artist BoA. I got results that even had those three letters, such as "Board of . . ."

I think searching for an exact phrase is really critical. I get so much crap returned on a search because it's linked to one stupid word in my search string.

It sounds to me like you are searching under 'all types.' Try being more exact in your searches, i.e. audio or video only.

And it sounds to me like you just grab what's available. Try serching for something really rare that contains single keywords that are in popular music. Then you might just have a change of heart.

Another thought...there are many files in LW that are not spelled correctly!

If you were to search for an exact phrase, but the owner of the file did not spell it correctly, you would not come up with a match.

Better too many results than too few, eh?

In a few cases yes, but you totally misunderstood this thread. It's about having a choice.

"find this file" Exact phrase
find this file Any words
find this -file Don't include file

Make more sense now or...

I thought this was tips and tricks...
