search actions Hi, does any know how i can avoid that every time a give in a search eg on one word i get a whole lot of results that do not correspond with what i have asked. If i give in eg "FAT" i would like to see just titles with the word FAT Is this possible? |
no, but we are all patiently waiting for the developers to modify the search engine in the software. Register at https://www.limewire.org/jira/browse/GUI-29 and vote for it to happen. edit: Oops wrong link. Fixed now :) |
On the topic of searches, what is the proper format for an AND search? A search for "Alex Jones" returns nothing. A search for Alex Jones gives results for both Alex or Jones, which is a ton of results that are irrelevent. A seach for Alex AND Jones returns results for Alex, and, or Jones. (same as the one above, plus hits on And) A search for +Alex +Jones acts the same as above showing hits for either word. Thats about all the standard search engine tricks that I know of, so if anyone knows which one works with LW, I'd appriciate it. Thanks, eb |
Never mind, did some more digging and it looks like this is a known issue and just aint gonna work at the moment. Might wanna sticky this issue as searching for "Search" on the forum doesn't really help much :) eb -- a Kazza refugee |
I'm kinda wondering how fast Limewire will improve their search, since they will be spending a lot of time defending themselves in court. About searching the forum it often works to use google to search here Just write site:www.gnutellaforums.com as part of your searchphrase Example: "songs to my mp3 player" site:www.gnutellaforums.com http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&l...om&btnG=Search |
