Limewire Pro

I'm sure this has been thought of before, but is it possible to download/upload limewire PRO onto limewire? if so, why haven't more people done it? if not, why not?

Sleepless September 19th, 2006 04:26 PM

Because everyone is not so cheap. It's $18.88 for Gods sake.

It helps support the developers so they can make Limewire even better. If noone paid for Pro then we would still be at version 2.0 or something like that. Is that what you want ??

nammfoodle September 19th, 2006 05:48 PM

the way I see it, if there are people out there who are willing to upload spam just to ruin Limewire, I'm surprised that not a single person has tried uploading Limewire Pro just to keep it from earning money.
However, I'm not advocating it. I'm just asking if Limewire's creators have done anything to prevent people from doing this.

If we aren't worried about money, why are we using limewire at all? it's only one dollar for a song using legal programs.

Sleepless September 19th, 2006 06:47 PM

Let's put it this way. Some people have maybe 300 songs = $300 (legally). Legal depends on which country you are in. Also online music stores aren't available for all people. Also depends on where you live.

Other people have 3.000 songs = $3.000 (starting to get more expensive now, right ?)

Other people have 30.000 songs. You do the math

Why not put an official request into the LW Beta forums here http://www.limewire.org/forum/index.php The louder the voice the better. I've already put in my request. And someone has already suggested a possible solution; Pro Stealers

A response from the devs a couple of hrs ago was that they're considering & can do it but ... whether they should do it? ... (I guess) as it also affects other gnutella progs & built in filtering brings in other issues I suppose. But I don't believe too many people would disagree with specific filtering in "this" specific case. After all, it's for self-protection.

Your opinions?:notsure:  :blushing:

Like what sleepless said. It is very cheep! $18 is nothing and with that $18 you can pretty much download anything you want!

Stop complaining and either buy it or live with it!

I am not saying that I've downloaded Pro. There are thousands, maybe even millions, of people using Limewire. why is it that when I search for Limewire Pro, There are onl two results?

What can Limewire staff do against Pro stealers?

I bought pro a long time ago. Then I upgraded to a newer version of limewire and now they want me to buy pro again. What's up with that ?

Lord of the Rings October 16th, 2006 08:06 AM

6 months of free updates. If you purchased more than 6 months ago then that's why. If you re-purchase around the end of 6 months you get a discount. If not for Pro there would be no free LW, else it would be full of adware like it was when it 1st started.
