Why The Difference in File Sizes A week or so ago, I made the big mistake of downloading a zip file for the ***** program.:shoot: I now have poroblems - I tried uninstalling the program but I am left with something that causes a window to keep popping up telling me that there is no valid certificate file and that window is driving me crazy! ANyways, I want to try downloading and reinstalling the program again and then trying an uninstall but I am unsure now which download to use as they vary in size from 632 MB to 197.7 MB. These are all zip files that I am considering - why is there such a difference in file sizes? ANy help or suggestions are appreciated. :aweof: __________________________________________________ Edited to comply with the House Rules. I think you'll find the 197 is actually 197 KB not 197 MB & is a virus. Organisations trying to stop illegal sharing of files such as software will plague the network with dud & fake files & files that contain viruses. Remember that under normal circumstances you're downlding from other people like yourself. So their offering might exclude some files. Organise your search results by size so you don't get duped; Arrange search results by size (click on link) |
I think you'll find that there are many programs that will do what you want to do and are available as freeware or shareware. Try these first! Also, you can get an idea from these free/shareware websites what size download you should expect for a program ;) Get antivirus protection! I also downloaded a few viruses when I first started with LW. Luckily, my McAfee antivirus software stopped ALL of it. Good Luck :xeri_ok1ani: |
