Default can any1 help with this simple question?

how can i have my recently downloaded files show up a different color so i can easily navigate through my files and not sit there for hrs trying to find them????

If you have a lot of files (like me) and want to be able to find your new downloads quickly, you could try my method:

All of my downloads go into my downloads folder.

After I download something, I move it to a more appropriate folder, i.e. music folder, video folder, etc.

This way you can keep your new downloads separate, and perhaps preview them before you decide you want to keep them.

Sorry, I don't know if you can change colors...

see now a friend has say red font in there library...when she d/l something the new ones are in that folder but with a white font to show they are new....i just dont get it!

That's because she messes around with the sharing options. Red means that the file is not being shared.

It's much easier to just use the explore function. You don't say which OS you use, but eg. in WindowsXP when you highlight your saving folder and press explore, the folder containing your downloads opens up. In that folder you can choose to display date and time the file was created, and then you can sort according to that:
