A friend of mine and I are trying to be able to browse each other's music on Limewire but we're not sure how. How do we make ourselves browsable hosts and how do we find each other's songs?? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

You'll both need to have chat enabled & not see the firewall icon (brick wall in front of the blue globe). You could try using direct connect...check the thread here for more info.

I tried what you said but it's not working. The firewall won't get off the screen and he isn't able to get his chat enabled. We did try Direct Connect and get an error saying that we can't browse that host. Any other ideas?

You'll have to get rid if the firewall icon & so will your friend (if he sees it) for this to work. Read here, there's a lot of info & advice about firewall issues.

If your friend can't get chat enabled, tell him to click Apply then ok after ticking the chat box within options. He could restart LW & see if the change has been applied. If the change isn't saving, he can delete LW's preferences folder when LW's properly closed. This will kill his settings within options, he'll have to go back through & reset everything afterwards. Points 2 & 3 below have instructions.

try sharing with i.m( instant message) m.s.n for example open your folder for music or movies and drag and drop into the send box. i use this method all the time.
