Hey Sinkers....
What plan are you on with Optus ??....Just remember that once your monthly quota is up they will shape you back to 64kbps until your new month begins....
I'm with Bigpond and I've just about used up all of mine for the month..lol..
Do you get the option to check your allowance meter with Optus ??

Another thing I noticed is that you have a Nat Firewall in your modem...
Here are the instructions for you to Port Forward...;)

Wondering Why..
I get 21gig per month with optus, have never run out and been slowed up.
There is an option to check your usage, which helps a lot.
I cant find my DNS name server on my routers web interface?
Also what should I slide the bandwidth bar to in L?W options settings?
Thanks Mate

A friend of mine is with Optus and I had to Port Forward for her and there where no DNS numbers listed....
So I rang Optus and after argueing with the customer service operator for at least 30 mins, I asked to speak to his supervisor and after arguing with him about the modem having a Nat Firewall he gave in and said I will ring you back...Well sure enough he rang and gave me the 2 DNS numbers I originally asked for and I then successfully Port Forwarded...

21 gigs I envy you lol...I only get 12 gigs a month for $70...

anyway enough of my ramblings...With your download and upload speeds are they in KB/s or in kbps...
Did you do an official speed test ??

Will give optus a ring Re: DNS numbers
I get & 7 Gig peak time, Midday to Midnight & 14 Gig off peak Midnight to Midday for $49 per month.
Yeah my speed results are official and are in kbps.

P.S Great to deal with a fellow Aussie!!

wondering why May 22nd, 2007 03:02 AM

Ok...What you do is divide the speeds by 8 and this will give you your result in KB/s...
So if you get 1350kbps it converts to around 168.6 KB/s download
and for the upload 244 kbps converts to around 30.8 KB/s...

I think you had the download and upload around the wrong way..;)

So on the slider I'd go 100% for the download and between 25 and 30 for the upload...

I love when more Aussies come on the forums...:laugh_2:

100% or unlimited?
If I am getting around 168kb/s download, should I still set it to 100%?

wondering why May 22nd, 2007 03:10 AM

Yep Unlimited...that's 100%...You have around the same speeds as me and I have mine set to that and all works well...Grandpa or UK Bob would know a bit more about the settings...
