Downloading from more than one host.
 

Hi all. If you just downloading the one file, say a video file. Is there any way you can download from more than the 10 hosts it always comes up with. I have seen it briefly connect to 11 hosts befor and have no idea why it did that. Obviously the more hosts the faster the download speed.

Andy, really depends what version you have and the way you have Limewire set up. I have 4.13.8 Pro Java 1.6.1. I get up to 14 hosts on a good day and I never have a bad day so there you go. Hope this helps.

I have version 4.12.11 Pro Limewire and 1.6.0_01 of Java. I thought this was the latest version you can get of Limewire so am a bit stuck really. Can I ask how your Limewire is set up and if any different from mine I'll have a go at setting it up the same to see if that works. Dont get me wrong, downloading off 10 hosts most of the time is fast enough as I am on a 20MB broadband internet connection but was just curious if I could get faster!

I know some people are having trouble with your set up 4.12.11 with Java 1.6.1. I have the latest Beta version in which you can also have if your Pro hasn't expired. Good for only 6 months of updates and e-mail support. Go to support and enter your e-mail address and upgrade to the latest Beta version. I don't think that it will make a big difference though. 10 hosts isn't bad.
