a good bit of info there |
Searching & searching saturates the network. Searches slow the network down. Imagne doing a search & taking 2-3 hours to return ALL the results? Instead LW searches a portion of the gnutella network. Then by using the Get More Results option you have a chance at searching through nodes that were not searched thru before. LW has introduced a system or researching, however after it searches thru 6 hosts per file, it gives up if it doesn't find an active or available host online. Both Resume & Find Sources options are network laggy, & should not be used when possible. What's more, they are 'less' effective than using the Search again or Finid More Results options. :) When LW goes to 'Sleep', it simply means the search UP's have been rested over that period. Since you are inactive at the computer, then some ultrapeers are allowed to give connections to others to be able to connect to gnutella network. In theory this should not affect LW's downloads, however 'some' people may find this 'is' a problem. I reiterate .. check other options for reactivating or enabling incomplete downloads: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/connec...889#post139889 |
