how can i make my download go faster? i am downlading a tv program that i would like to go much faster. i've heard there is a way of making it go faster. so far it is at 3% with 11 kbs, and about 15-20 hours to go. any help would be really appreciated.:laugh_2: |
1 Attachment(s) The second & third links here http://www.gnutellaforums.com/downlo...load-help.html discuss this. Re-search the file periodically to try to find more sources to download from. You can also use the Get More Results option by right-clicking the search results tab & choosing that option (OSX users use Control-click). I use this option all the time, periodically getting more results (perhaps every 30 or 60 mins 'if' needed). Eventually simply doing a fresh search. Remember gnutella programs have a scope of search & they will never reach the entire network, only a % of it, else searches would take hours to return (I used other p2p sharing programs like that in past.) People are coming on & off line all the time so finding new sources is the best way to go. If a file stops or goes to zero speed for too long, I will sometimes cancel it & reselect from the search results (knowing it's the same one via the download icon in search results.) http://www.gnutellaforums.com/attach...e-resultsb.gif BTW here's some examples of speeds I've been able to get: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/limewi...tml#post330034 . |
