Sorting Download results by SIZE

When I choose a lot of files to download, I like them to download based on file size, not the order I chose them. I know how to sort the list based on size, but is the only way to re-prioritize the list by using the up and down arrows?? I had over 100 files and there has to be a better way than clicking those arrows over and over and over for 100 files.

Any help?

Thank you.

The column headers are tabs. If you click the header for size, the list will sort into ascending order; another click, descending order. However, that will not ensure the files download in that order. There are many variables, such as number of hosts, various bandwidths across hosts, etc., that will affect when files are downloaded. If you sort before initiating downloads, they'll at least start off in the order you want.

Thank you

Thanks, BlackHorse. I had those things figured out; I was just hoping for some way to change the "Priority" of the downloads without having to use the little arrows. When you have over a 100 items that's a LOT of painful clicking.

Thanks for the answer. I'll just sort them before I put them in the list and it will help. You're right, though, that if it doesn't immmediately get downloaded (Awaiting Sources, or something) it gets re-prioritized any way. Thanks for your help. I appreciate it.

Sounds like you're using the Resume function. If you wish particular downloads to resume before others, use the search function, it is much more effective & less demanding on the network than the Resume function. Yes I know it sounds like a lot of manual work, lol but it is simply the most effective method. :) And don't forget the Get More Results option occasionally since LW only searches a portion of the network, plus people are coming on & offline all the time, so getting more results will both search further and ... hopefully find any new hosts online with the files you are after. :)
