Default Search Results in Other Languages/Characters

I don't want to change the base language in my Limewire, because I'm not fluent in anything else but English. But is there a way to display search results in Asian characters for songs with Asian titles? If I'm searching for jpop, for example, I'm getting blank boxes in place of the kanji and I'm not sure what the song is. I'm not fluent in Japanese, so I want my tools (File, View, My Library, any error messages, etc.) in English, but I can recognize the song titles I'm looking for--most of the time anyway.

iTunes does the same thing if I put the d/l'ed file into the library there, but my iPod reads it and displays it with the right characters (I don't get that either, but oh well).

So is there a setting for this that I'm not finding? Or can I suggest this for the next update/build?

Thanks!

You need to have language support on your system. On my mac it installs japanese by default, so when I use LW the japanese characters generally (not always) show up fine. Same applies for chinese for me. (I occasionally download japanese & chinese videos & music, also get lots of japanese uploaders so browse them occasionally. I never studied Japanese but did study chinese for several years & a couple other asian languages at university.)

Since you're most likely using Windows, you may need to go back to your Windows installation disk & install the extra language support. Else, enable it via your control panel if it is already installed. I also have Windows XP installed on my mac, the control panel in question is called Regional and Language Options. Click on Languages tab & check install ... and also click on Advanced & check the language you desire for extra support.
