Question Installer quits with error message...

The Limewire installer quits with this message: "Cannont launch Java application The main class "com.zerog.lax.LAX" could not be found."

I'd love to evaluate this program for future purchase, but it won't even install.

Has anyone a solution?

Try running the installer from the root level of your hard disk. This solved the problem for me.

What is the root level of your hard drive? I am new to MAc and am unfamiliar with terminology

I have a similar problem but when the installer quits, there is no message, it just makes me quit....

Angry Same problem here

Same problem for me. The two latest updates (at least) has been impossible to install, since the installer quits immediately, with no message. Running the installer från the rootlevel of the harddrive doesn't help.

Boot from your installer CD and then run the Disk Utility. Be sure to run both the fix problems and the fix permissions.

You should not have to log in as root to install LimeWire. In fact logging in as root is usually a really bad idea. This is why root login is disabled by default.

Drag the installer from the folder it is currently in directly into the HD on your desktop, then run it. It should work then.
