Default installer quits unexpectedly
The installer quits everytime I run it. I have downloaded it several times and still the same thing. Any suggestions?

Boot from your Mac X installer CD and then run the Disk Utility that is under the Apple menu. Be sure to run both the fix problems and the fix permissions.
