Corruption

I'm using LimeWire 2.8.6 pro on a top-of-the-range iBook running OSX.2.3 .

It's the old problem: every time I download a file I get the following message after the download is complete but before it has shown up anywhere on my HD: "LimeWire has detected a corruption in the file [name of file]. Do you want to continue the download?" If I then click "Yes" the file disappears and, again, doesn't show up on my HD. If I click "No" the same thing happens.

Having combed these Forums, I've tried all the fixes I could find. I've tried sticking to files with four stars; I've switched off "Auto-clear Completed Downloads"; I've switched the location of downloaded files from my "Shared" folder to my Desktop folder; I've even tried upgrading from the free software to LimeWire Pro. Nothing works. Nothing works.

I'm going to try deinstalling the latest version and reinstalling the free version since at least that version worked for a bit. Maybe the problem is that the first free version I downloaded updated itself in some way, thereby importing the bug.

Has anyone solved this problem yet? If so, please either post a reply to this or email me on tyoung@infohouse.com. Someone must have figured out a fix. What is it?
