Limewire mounting error? Hi, Can anyone help? I have bought limewire pro (ver 4.0.5) recently on panther. But it keeps crashing. I noticed the newest version is now 4.0.8. I downloaded LimeWireOSX.dmg for Max OSX but when I try to install, I keep getting ERROR –536870208 – the following disk images fail to mount. Meanwhile, my old version has begun to crash during downloads, so I would really like an update. Never did crash before this. Can you fix this? Thanks so much. |
What version of Mac OS 10.3 do you use? To see what version your running go to the Apple menu and come down to "About This Mac" You might want to run Software Update from the Apple menu to make sure you have the latest updates. Apple recently released "Java Update 1.4.2 Update 1" and Mac OS 10.3.5. I can't guarantee this will work but it is worth a try. |
Hi Spearson, Sorry, I guess saying I use panther wsn't enough info.... I am using both Java Update 1.4.2 and Mac OS 10.3.5 I am one of those folks who always tries to get the latest updates... At this point, Limewire is crashing hourly, usually in the middle of a download. I can't figure out what is causing it, unless my version just got corupted? Anyone know how to uninstall Limewire? Is anyone else getting these errors when trying to install LM 4.0.8? ERROR –536870208 – the following disk images fail to mount. heh - ok, now I am just rambling in frustration -- any ideas? Thanks! |
I just downloaded LimeWire Pro version 4.0.8 for Mac OS X using Safari on my dad's iBook G4 running Mac OS 10.3.5 and I had no problems. I recommend that you download it using Safari as your web browser. I hope this helps. |
