LW has no password. In OSx you must be logged in as an admin to install any softw unless your your osx login has been given equal status. Sounds like it's not your computer. Log out & log back in as an admin for your comp (you'll find it at the bottom of your apple menu or SHIFT+CMD+Q.) Also check your system prefs & look at Accounts section.
