direct sharing
 

Hi,
I was wondering if it is possible to share directly with a specific Limewire user and if so how does one do so?
I'm using ver. 4.8.0

there are several ways to establish direct connections to a know IP address with LW.

The first is the Direct Connection search (beside the Keyword search button), where you enter your friend's IP address and port number. The friend can also do this with your IP and port, which is show in the example right above the entry space.

The second way is to disconnect, then in the connections pane, enter the IP and port and use the Add button. Once the friend shows in the connections list, you could browse the friend's files, and vice-versa.

If all else fails (probably because either of you is firewalled or otherwise prevented from accepting incoming connections), try sending your friend a amgnet link of one of your shared files. Just control-click on the filename of one of your shared files in the Library pane, and choose "magnet details." You can copy the link and email it to your friend.

So--Direct Connect, Connections, or magnets.

i just saw the direct connect option and i was told i am behind a firewall or router so I can't direct connect. oh well I'll try magnet.
