can't open application
 

hello, I have been using limewire (old,no version listed upon launch) thought it was time to get new. downloaded 2.7 and when I tried to open to install, my Adobe photo shop launches, tells me it can't be opened because it is the wrong type of document, and then, the Macbin icon from my desktop goes pooof into this air...there must me a simple solution right ? thanks so much for any help. Try rebuilding the Mac Desktop- Restart, then hold down the command and option keys as the extensions/control panels are loading, before your desktop appears- you'll be asked if you want to rebuild the desktop file, answer yes, and let it do its thing. This may not be the ultimate cause of your problem, but it does nothing but good- it will make all generic icons eturn to normal & fix other OS problems. Hope this helps...
