Dark Lady, all previous versions of LimeWire can be downloaded from: http://www3.limewire.com/download/ Instead of downloading v2.8.5, try version 2.8.6. Download v2.8.6 Warning: Past versions of LimeWire lower then 2.6x might not work. Please do not attempt to download previous versions of LimeWire. Thank you. |
fixed it After 24 agonizing hours, I think I beat the bug. I threw out a file called .limewire and (so far) it seems to be working. But I will keep this information just incase. thanks ! |
Thanks for the info, LimeDude; it was not apparent from the main site just where previous version downloads are available. This is one nasty bug! I believe that I've installed MRJ 2.2.5, but am not 100% sure. LimeWire is the only Java app I run with any regularity, so it doesn't come up often. Is version 2.2.5 supposed to resolve the problem? |
old versions I found older versions at www.oldversion.com Good luck. |
Please note that older versions of LimeWire prior to 2.6.x will not work. This is because the newer LimeWire versions include GWebCache support, and GWebCaches are required to connect to the Gnutella network. Read Adam's post. |
reason for upgrade "spy wear" ? |
No. Not spyware. Especially not on MacOS. |
